A belated welcome back to term 2

Hi everyone,
As you probably know I was off for a week from Anzac day because of our daughter's wedding festivities. We all had a wonderful time and many relatives and friends from far and wide joined us to celebrate.

So now my mind is firmly fixed once again on school.

While I was away Mrs Debenham continued the English unit on Greek myths and legends. The students are relishing this unit and have as groups written three excellent plays based on the stories of Orpheus, Pandora and Narcissus. We hope to perform them this week and video them too so you can watch them on this blog site.

This term we will also be beginning preparations for Wearable Arts. The production is based this year on The Carnival of the Animals and it should be fun creating dances and masks to accompany the music of Saint Saens.

Our R.E unit for the first half of this term is God; and we are focussing on the image of God as an immense being who we can never truly know everything about and yet He is so close and caring for each and everyone of us.

Mathematics focus this term is geometry and measurement. Please encourage your child to reinforce their classroom learning by using Mathletics online at home.

Yet again, if you have any concerns regarding your child's education or socialization please do not hesitate to come and talk to us at school.

Regards,

Kathleen Bradley
