Tony and Kay

- Posted using BlogPress from my iPad

Tony and Kay who were at / St Mary's school 65 years ago visited assembly today to tell us about life at school in their time. They have just had a lunch with many of their school friends and made a generous offer of $135 to our school. It was great to have them here and listen to their stories.

Keisha's story

Spending My Day With...

By Keisha

If I could spend a day with anyone in the whole wide world,
alone with no distractions or anything else. I’d pick my family, because my
family means the whole world to me, They will always be with me through good
times and bad and from beginning to end. They support me all the way, they also
forgive me no matter how bad my mistakes are.

I don’t even care about money or anything else when it comes
to my family. The love and affection they give me is already enough. Some
people say that money is important. But actually it’s not, because money can’t
buy love. Even the richest man  in the
world can’t buy love.

Every time they say the most important words. Which is “ I
Love You,” it makes me really happy. Those three words don’t mean anything when
you don’t say it properly. It has to be said with love and meaning.

Sure, most of the time my siblings and I fight a lot but
after all the fighting we still get along really well. I kind of think when my
siblings and I fight it  is a good thing
because we always learn from our mistakes. We learn how to say sorry and
forgive each other.

Sometimes we think that we hate each other but we actually
don’t. We sometimes forget that we love each other. There’s always a bond in my
family within us. I should also remember that my family comes first no matter
what happens.

That’s why I’d spend my day with my family instead of One
Direction, Justin Bieber or Tom Cruise. I will always know that my family is
always with me in some way, wherever, whenever even if they’re not physically
with me.

How does the moon stay up in the sky?

How does the moon stay up in the sky?

Have you wondered why the moon stays up in air with no trouble at all. When you were five they probably told you that the moon is a big chunk of rock that is held up by the earth’s gravity. That’s not entirely true.

It’s held up by the earth but not by the earth’s gravity. It’s held by the earth’s soul or mana. It's like a spiritual  hand holding a ball; a giant ball. Jupiter’s hand is very greedy and is holding more than 64 moons.

The planets mana was created like soul;  a  free will. Earth grabbed a shooting star and that turned into a moon.

When the planets were made God was tired.

Imagine creating the universe by yourself so God created the angel to help him on his quest. They  thought  the idea of the planets having mana was a good idea but there was a catch.

Some planets were too big, too greedy. Their mana was corrupted by their size. Earth is the ideal size for the mana; big enough to hold on to just one moon. That why we are here. Earth is the best place in the universe.

The Moon is special, very special but not the only thing Earth is carrying in it’s giant hands. It’s carrying us too for a eternity just like God.

Zac's poem

who helps the tooth fairy deliver the money?

The tooth fairy oblivious
to the human eye and
outrageously generous with
money.

how does she deliver
all that money and pick up all
the teeth scattered all around
the world every single day
without a bust or a fuss.

who helps her deliver
the money and pick
up the teeth every day.

well some say pixies
others say fellow fairies
but I say our parents
have shifts in trying to
help the tooth fairy so they can get their side of the pay
pure golden teeth!

and that is the answer to who helps the tooth fairy deliver the money and pick up the teeth

Zac

Zora's story

WHY DOES THE MOTH FLY AROUND AT NIGHT??

By Zora Rodricks

Michelle was scared of everything. Spiders, dogs, birds, and
so many others you could write a book. But the thing she was most terrified of
was... MOTHS!!! Nobody knows why but she couldn’t get over it. As she grew
older she managed to conquer most of her fears, all except for one. Michelle
was still afraid of  moth; a few weeks
after she turned 17 her mum took her to the
fair.

There were games, food and rides. Her entire day was a
buzz.  With a few coins left in her hand
she entered a small  stall near the food
court. An old lady dressed in gauzy clothing was sitting there. “Tell me your
fears.”  Michelle was so entranced by her
voice that she heard herself telling the gypsy everything.  Hearing her fears the gypsy started talking.
“My dear this is how the moth came to be....”

Long ago butterflies were magic. Their wings would change
colour with their mood. They were welcome everywhere; cats would worship them
and dogs would bow down to them. One butterfly in particular was very specia;
she was beautiful. Whatever she wanted she was given. Soon she grew mean and
conceited.

Her wings grew grey and she became fat and lazy.  For she was carried everywhere. Eventually
she stopped going out and all the colour from her body disappeared. She soon
became sorrowful and lonely. She knew she was ugly. To become beautiful again
she went to find light. The daylight was too harsh for her eyes so she went out
at night. Finding little bulbs of light she would fly round them to try and
absorb the light...

“See. You need to feel sorry for them not scared of them.”

Michelle was filled with a new knowledge and thanked the
woman. Leaving the fair with her mum she said “ I think moths are cute.”
