Ebola Outrage Argument

This week room 5 have been writing about arguments, one of the topics we did were "Should NZ close its border to stop Ebola?" Ebola is an infectious and generally fatal disease marked by a fever and severe internal bleeding, spread through contact with infected body fluids. Currently the Ebola virus has spread in Nigeria, many people are dying of it. Here are two sides of our ebola argument:

Against:

Personally I think NZ shouldn't close its border to stop Ebola. It's extremely unlikely that someone would catch Ebola by being in the same airplane or public space who was affected. Ebola doesn't tend to travel through the air like the flu. In order to get ebola you have to touch the body fluids such as, sweat, vomit, diarrhea, blood, urine and etc. So no I don't think NZ should close its border.

So I am sorry but I think we should close  down the border because we can't take those risks. Unless there was a cure... But there isn't. It's too risky letting people from other countries that have Ebola coming into our country. But it really stinks not to go to other countries but it's for the best.
