Year 8 Clubs

The Year 8's organized the following clubs in 2015:

Art Club

By Lexi, Chiara and Kiana

In Art Club at the moment we are learning how to draw cartoon animals. We will be giving the ten children tips and let them draw what they want so we can help them with that. The next thing we’re doing is portraits, the children will get into pairs and draw their partner’s face. The plan for Term 1 will be drawing different things every week: Week 4 - cartoons, Week 5 - drawing from an art book, Week 6 - bring your own object, Week 7 - origami, Week 8 - portraits, Week 9 - bird eye view of anything they like. We aim for them to have fun on what they are doing.

Dance Club 2015

By Molly Harvey Y8 and Amy Kirk Y7

Dance club is a club that is for children who want to dance and have fun at the same time and that is what we are going to do for the year. There are 33 children who want to join for the whole year which is a big number. We are having fourteen children this term including Amy and I. It is on Tuesdays at one o’clock until the bell rings. We are hoping there will be no disturbance and best behaviour is expected.

Movie Club

By Christopher, Kiana and Chiara

Our Movie Club is every Friday at 1:00 to 1:30 PM. There are 31 students from the school who want to join. We are going to group them into three and each of us will help each group. Our theme this term is on Lent and Easter. We will be starting this Friday.

Glee Club

By Kiana and Lexi

In Glee Club at the moment we are having auditions for everyone who signed up. This is so we will know what to give them tips on and what they will need help on. Glee club is all about music and confidence. We help them to be confident and give singing tips.

In Glee club we are going to do a remix with songs we’ve picked and the song we picked to sing was “Lean on Me”, “Don’t Stop Believin”, “Poker Face” and “Rehab”. I think this will give them a challenge and will be a good way to start off this club. We will perform these songs in front of the school during an assembly and we will hope this will intrigue people to join this club to make a bigger choir.

Sports Club
By Nicholas, Iuvale, Kaleb, Christopher

There are 9 boys and 7 girls in our Sports Club which is every Wednesday from 1:00 to 1:30 PM. We started last week by looking at videos on basketball and football at the Learning Centre. We then formed them into 2 groups. Iuvale and Nicholas taught basketball in the first group and Kaleb and Christopher taught football in the other group. We are teaching them in Sports Club how to play the rules in basketball and football. We hope that it will go well and they will listen properly.

They had to get dressed in costumes of where they or their parents or grandparents come from and also brought food to share at lunch time. It was a special day for everyone.
