Should Microchip Bracelets be Used in Schools?
By Lexi

If students were to wear the bracelets, why is it just that school north of Christchurch? Soon maybe the whole of New Zealand might as Well be wearing them. Clearly teachers don't trust the students enough.

Yes, sure use them if you know that the students have been bunking school, but if not they are being very untrustworthy. Not many students want to be watched six hours a day, five days a week. Personally I would feel being spied on.

My opinion is that no, they should not be using the microchip bracelets. The teachers need to realise that students at school make mistakes and then fix them up themselves. More than half the parents at this school don’t like the idea. Why would you spend $7000 for a whole school  on microchip bracelets that could be easily broken or lost. Why not use that money for the school or sports equipment? The teachers and parents should have trust in the students. I personally would not like to be watched and monitored. Therefore I disagree.

Should microchip bracelets be used by children to keep track of their behaviour?

Should microchip bracelets be used by children to track on their behaviour? Should they? I said to myself I didn't know. So I thought of the good things and the bad things about them.

I thought of the positive things first. If children did use microchip bracelets the teachers could see if someone is bullying or being nice. They could see if someone went out of class and went somewhere else and they would know if someone is stealing or doing something good.

Then I thought of the bad things about have microchip bracelets. If children didn't have microchip bracelets they couldn't really tell when someone is doing wrong. If they have microchip bracelets they will spend a lot of money.

Honestly I think we shouldn't wear microchip bracelets because I think we are responsible enough to not wear them. If every child has it in a school it will cost a lot of money.

Honestly I think we shouldn't wear microchip bracelets because we are responsible enough on the right way to behave and don't need to wear them. If every child has it in a school it will cost a lot of money for the school which could be used for things to improve students' learning.
