Tape Art Workshop - 6 March 2014

The Wellbeing Programme is promoted and encouraged, and children respond to the following perspectives: belonging and, achieving, resilient, socially and emotionally competent, active, nurtured and cared for, safe and secure and strong sense of identity.

As part of the programme, Room 5 had an exciting and awesome morning yesterday. We had a Tape Art Workshop.

Erica shoed us what tapes can do as a medium in Art.

With Struan, Erica's husband they showed us on the projector the amazing example of the work they exhibited in Hamilton and in other parts in New Zealand.

They demonstrated how to use the skills or techniques in twisting, cutting or stripping the tapes without using the scissors.

Christopher an Lexi tried doing circles, and stripping.

Others are also learning the flexibility of the tape.

Struan showed how to use more details in doing a portrait.

Kaleb and Tim have started to do the portrait of each other sand began with the shape of their heads

Michelle and Lucy had the eyes and eyebrows organised.

Bradley Sean with each other's portrait.

Samantha and Isidora's creations.....

Ciaran and Connor's work....

Nicholas was reflecting on his portrait of Ijaz and that looked like a portrait of Nicholas contemplating.

Jenna and Lilly worked well.....

That's a pretty portrait of Lexi, Christopher. Lexi did a good job of her portrait.

Tim and Kaleb's handiwork.....

The children were asked to group themselves and worked on a theme to do a tape art on the wall of the Canterbury District Building on 310 Manchester Street.

Planning, measuring, estimating and working on our lifesize effort.....

Hey, Ijaz, what are you trying to do with Ciaran?
