Claudia wishes we had some live games in ChCH

Rugby world cup will be held in CHCH. CHCH earthquake destroys A.M.I. stadium. Will CHCH host the R.W.C. 2011? CHCH is now officially not fit enough to host the R.W.C.

Most of us Cantabrians were devastated after hearing the news that the R.W.C. would not be hosted in CHCH. Me, not so much at the time. I thought ya, now my dad doesn't have to drag me along to another rugby game. But after you have long talks with your family saying " Claudia this, and Claudia that " it all comes down to some of the main points such as making a big profit to our country, welcoming different cultures from all over the world, and, actually I better stop there cause I could go on forever. But don't think it is one of those happy ever ending stories there is always a down side to it.

If there was to be no earthquake which is all we wished for, the problem for us hosting such a major event is our lack of infrastructure to cope with high demands of traffic congestion. We don't have a reliable public transport system that could possibly cope, and in an event like this it only encourages more binge drinking which is already an issue with our young today.

I think it is a huge loss for our city in not just the whole money side of it but for all those different people we would have been able to met.
